Apple has officially introduced iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, positioning camera control, sustained performance, battery life, and intelligence as the generation's four major upgrades. The headline camera change is a new 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, giving the system more control over depth of field and incoming light while also offering manual aperture settings for experienced photographers.

The phones are powered by A20 Pro and use a next-generation vapor chamber designed to maintain performance during demanding games, video work, and on-device AI tasks. Apple also says iPhone 18 Pro Max delivers the largest battery-life increase yet for an iPhone. As always, those manufacturer claims need independent testing under mixed mobile data, camera, navigation, and gaming workloads before buyers can understand the real-world gain.

iOS 27 ships with the new generation of Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. Apple describes Siri AI as more conversational and capable of using personal context and onscreen awareness to help complete tasks. The assistant is initially rolling out in beta, and availability varies by language and region. Buyers should check Apple's current feature-availability page rather than assuming every advertised capability will work at launch.

The lineup comes in black, silver, glacier, and burgundy, with storage options from 256GB to 2TB. Apple announced U.S. starting prices of $1,199 for iPhone 18 Pro and $1,299 for iPhone 18 Pro Max. Regional pricing, carrier terms, and trade-in values will differ.

Apple's official introduction video provides the clearest overview of the design and camera direction. The most important questions for later review are how natural the variable-aperture transitions look, whether the vapor chamber sustains performance without uncomfortable heat, and how much of Siri AI is dependable outside carefully prepared demonstrations.
